Hello,

I’ve been playing around recording for quite a while, nothing too serious, mainly just for fun. I’ve recorded a number of tunes with a friend and have a preference for ‘real’ instruments where possible so I’ve been leaning how to get the best out of my mics and less than ideal recording area. I also record my practice sessions on occasion to help identify problems within pieces I’m trying to perfect.

Best wishes,

Chris

Hello Pete,

I wish I had a following to bring over for you! I was trying to work out if this is a purely Professional forum or if amateurs like me can join in, I hope it's okay. Most of my recording knowledge has come out of the pages of Sound on Sound but I enjoy playing around.

Over the weekend I was trying out a demo of PSP’s Vintage Warmer plug-in, I dropped it on the saxophone track and on the output and rather liked the overall ‘feel’ it imparted. I thought it was $50 but must have miss-read it as it turns out to be $150! So that might go on the back burner for a while

Thanks for letting me join,

All the best,

Chris

Yes, anyone can join.

I use Vintage Warmer on just about every track I do, it's one of the greatest plugins around and worth every penny.

I've got 11 or 12 days left on the demo so I'm trying it out on a few tracks. I really should read through the manual so that I know what the knobs are doing. Thus far I think it's really nice and I'd like to get it, but I might have to wait a month or two.

All the best,

Chris
